Allegri wants Pjanic to re-join Juventus.
Miralem Pjanic is one of a number of players that Barcelona would like to part ways with this summer, which has caused Juventus to consider bringing the Bosnian midfielder back to Turin.
The 31-year-old was an important player for Massimiliano Allegri, whose return to Juventus was confirmed on Friday, and a potential deal could be in the offing.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported Juventus’ interest, just one year after Pjanic himself made the switch from the Bianconeri to Barcelona.
Pjanic spent three seasons playing under Allegri – the 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 campaigns – and it was the Italian coach that initially brought him to Juventus from Roma in 2016.
Things did not go to plan for Pjanic in his debut season at Barcelona, making 30 appearances but starting just 13 games.
“This season leaves me with a bitter taste and questions that still need answers… A hug to all the Cules, see you soon,” Pjanic wrote on social media after the end of the campaign.
Pjanic was unable to displace Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong and Pedri in the starting line-up, while he even saw himself fall behind youngsters Ilaix Moriba and Riqui Puig as the season drew to a close.
Pjanic, who joined Barcelona as part of the deal which saw Arthur Melo head the other way to Juventus, has an uncertain future at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona are keen to save on his hefty salary, but they see a departure on loan as being more likely than a sale due to the fact that they would need to sell him for a large sum of money to be able to pay off the fee they sent Juventus’ way.
